Far-right media personality Laura Loomer sparked controversy by suggesting that Vice President Kamala Harris wore audio earrings during a recent debate.
Loomer posted a side-by-side comparison on X, formerly known as Twitter, featuring Harris alongside a screenshot of a Tom’s Guide article about the Nova H1 Audio Earrings, which are wireless earphones embedded in freshwater pearl earrings. This post garnered nearly 4 million views by Wednesday evening.
Trump senior adviser Jason Miller further fueled the speculation by retweeting an article from Icebach Sound Solutions, the developers of the Nova H1 Audio Earrings, who commented on the striking resemblance between their product and Harris’ earrings.
Miller accompanied his retweet with the eyes emoji, indicating intrigue or skepticism, while other prominent accounts also spread similar unfounded claims regarding the audio earrings.
However, Harris was actually seen wearing Tiffany & Co.’s South Sea Pearl Earrings, which feature a distinctive design with a pearl placed atop two gold rods, as noted by the blog What Kamala Wore. These earrings are not available for purchase online. In contrast, the Nova H1 Audio Earrings have a singular clip design, differing significantly from Harris’s jewelry.
Malte Iversen, managing director at Icebach Sound Solutions, clarified to Forbes that the company had no knowledge of the earrings worn by Harris during the debate. The Harris campaign chose not to comment, and representatives from Tiffany and ABC News did not respond to inquiries from Forbes.
