A shocking incident has unfolded in Abuja, where Benue politician Ewaoche Benjamin Obe was evicted from his own house by his wife, Christiana Obe, who allegedly used the property as collateral for a loan.

According to reports, Christiana, an officer in the Nigerian Air Force, took out the loan without Obe’s knowledge or consent. The house, located in the Sagwari Layout of Dutse, Bwari Area Council, was built by Obe.

Obe claimed he received no prior court notice and was only informed of the eviction when security operatives arrived at his property on September 25, 2024. His wife had already moved some belongings out of the house.

The politician expressed shock and disappointment, stating, “She has done her worst. This is a house I built with my hard-earned money.”

The incident has sparked controversy, with Obe’s family members questioning the legitimacy of the court papers and the lenders’ actions
