Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has declined to speak further on the allegations against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCS) regarding Bobrisky’s bribery claims.

VeryDarkMan was invited to brief the Investigating Committee on the voice note he shared, where Bobrisky alleged that officials from the EFCC and NCS demanded N15 million to serve his prison term in the VIP section of the Kirikiri Medium Custodial Centre in Lagos ¹. However, VeryDarkMan refused to testify, stating that Bobrisky’s absence was disrespecting the committee.

“Bobrisky said in the voice note that there is a godfather. Maybe the godfather told him not to come,” VeryDarkMan said. “You are already threatening me with arrest. If you detain me, I will stay in the cell. If Bobrisky is not here, I will not say anything. If I say anything, let me die.

The committee members attempted to persuade VeryDarkMan to speak, assuring him that Bobrisky would also face the panel. This development follows the House of Representatives’ resolution to investigate the bribery allegations against the EFCC and NCS

Bobrisky, a controversial cross-dresser, was convicted and sentenced to prison for naira abuse in April. He alleged that his godfather, in collaboration with the Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, arranged for him to serve his six-month sentence in a private apartment.

The EFCC and NCS have faced intense scrutiny over these allegations, with many calling for reforms within the organizations.
