Hamas Claims Responsibility for Deadly Tel Aviv Attack
Hamas’ armed wing, Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades, claimed responsibility for the shooting and stabbing attack in Tel Aviv, Israel, that killed seven people. The attack occurred near the Tel Aviv light rail station in Jaffa.
The attackers, identified as Mohammed Misk and Ahmed al-Haimoni from Hebron, used an assault rifle and knife, targeting passengers on a light rail train. Police neutralized the attackers, killing one and wounding the other.
This attack coincided with Iran’s missile barrage on Israel, firing around 200 missiles. The violence follows the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel, resulting in 1,205 deaths, mostly civilians.

Israeli police arrested several suspects in Hebron and Jerusalem believed to have aided the attackers. The victims include Israelis, a Georgian, a Greek, and a Moldovan national.
Palestinian militants have carried out several attacks since October 7, killing 23 Israelis. Violence in the West Bank has surged, with Israeli troops or settlers killing 682 Palestinians.
Israel has occupied the West Bank since 1967, leading to frequent clashes.
