Former Jigawa Governor Criticizes President Tinubu’s UK Vacation Amid Nigeria’s Economic Hardship
Alhaji Sule Lamido, former governor of Jigawa State, has condemned President Bola Tinubu’s two-week vacation in the United Kingdom. Lamido questioned Tinubu’s empathy for Nigerians, who face economic hardship and insecurity challenges.
Tinubu’s Special Advisor, Bayo Onanuga, stated the president’s trip was part of his annual leave and a “working vacation” to reflect on economic reforms. However, Lamido accused Tinubu of deliberately inflicting hardship on Nigerians.
In a Facebook post, Lamido asked if Tinubu could ponder Nigerians’ dire situations while in Europe’s comfort. He criticized the president’s decision to take a vacation amidst the country’s challenges.
This development comes as Nigerians continue to face economic difficulties and insecurity concerns. The president’s vacation has sparked debate about his administration’s priorities.
