The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has destroyed counterfeit products worth N10 billion in the Northeast zone. The items, including food, drugs, and other regulated products, were seized by NAFDAC’s regulatory and enforcement officers.
At the public destruction exercise in Gombe State, NAFDAC’s Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, emphasized the agency’s commitment to protecting public health. “NAFDAC remains at the forefront of promoting public health through rigorous standards and international collaboration.”
The destroyed products could have harmed countless individuals if circulated. NAFDAC encouraged Nigerians to report suspicious products to build a safer and healthier nation.
State Coordinator James Agada assured the public of NAFDAC’s efforts to strengthen regulatory frameworks and bring violators to justice. “We will enhance surveillance to ensure only quality products reach consumers.”
This exercise demonstrates NAFDAC’s market control strategies to safeguard public safety.
