Posters of former Kano State Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma have recently emerged on social media, suggesting a potential joint presidential ticket for the 2027 elections.

The posters indicate that Ganduje, who currently serves as the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), intends to run for president, with Uzodinma, the current Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF), as his running mate.

The campaign poster carry the slogan “For Nigerians, prosperity and human capital development” and suggest that both political figures will contest the upcoming election on the APC platform.

This development comes amid speculation about an alleged plot to replace Ganduje as APC national chairman with an ambassadorial position, a claim that the APC National Working Committee (NWC) has dismissed as false.

Reports from contents101 indicate that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will complete his first term in 2027, but his actions, comments, and those of his ministers suggest he is likely to seek re-election.

Ganduje has repeatedly stated that President Tinubu will pursue and secure a second term, making the appearance of these posters particularly intriguing.

In response to the posters, Ganduje characterized them as the work of “mischief-makers” and “fifth columnists.” His Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Edwin Olofu, described the situation as “laughable” and “childish,” attributing the posters to individuals who have been trying to undermine Ganduje since the beginning of his tenure as national chairman.

Olofu emphasized that this act appears to be a deliberate attempt to create discord between Ganduje and President Tinubu, urging those behind the posters to cease their disruptive efforts. He asserted that President Tinubu would not be swayed by such “cheap blackmail.”

The Imo State Government on the other hand dismissed it as fake and malicious posters.

State Commissioner for Information Declan Emelumba stated that the posters are the work of mischief-makers aiming to create discord between the governor and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Emelumba emphasized that Uzodinma remains a staunch supporter of Tinubu and is focused on fulfilling his second-term mandate. He urged the public to disregard any claims of Uzodinma’s vice-presidential ambitions, labeling them as unfounded and harmful misinformation.
