Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) Chairman, Babatunde Osibodu, suggests reforms for state electoral commissions instead of transferring local government election duties to INEC.

Osibodu cited INEC’s existing workload and potential burden, emphasizing devolution of power to federating states. He acknowledged controversies surrounding recent elections and the need for reform.

For the forthcoming November 16 local government elections, eight parties have registered, with only two submitting complete candidate lists. Osibodu ensures free, fair, and transparent elections.
