Tinubu’s Tax Reforms: You’re selfish — Former Kano Spokesman slams Kwankwaso

Former Kano State spokesperson Salisu Yakasai, also known as Dawisu, has accused Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State, of opposing President Bola Tinubu’s tax reform bills solely due to personal interests. Dawisu claimed that Kwankwaso’s stance is motivated by the fact that the reforms don’t align with his own agenda.

Kwankwaso had previously stated that Tinubu’s supporters, referred to as the “Lagos Axis,” are attempting to impose their policies on the North. He also accused Tinubu of meddling in Kano State politics. However, Dawisu countered that Kwankwaso’s criticism stems from his own presidential ambitions and the fact that Tinubu’s policies don’t serve his interests.

Dawisu pointed out that in 2014, Kwankwaso and the “Lagos Axis” collaborated to appoint Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, despite him not being one of the top contenders nominated by the Kingmakers. This decision was allegedly made to spite former President Goodluck Jonathan, with the promise of supporting Kwankwaso’s presidential ambitions in 2019 ¹.
