Locals refused to release the corpse until rituals were performed to prevent a similar occurrence from happening to his colleagues. The university authorities initially refused to comply but eventually, concerned individuals paid the required amount and provided a white ram for the sacrifice.

They also warned students to avoid outdoor events near waterways and swimming in water bodies of undefined depth.
