No society can thrive without effective educational policy – Zamfara Gov, Lawal

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has emphasized the importance of a formidable educational policy for societal progress. He described the Federal College of Education Technical (FCET) in Gusau as a vital platform for nurturing and producing qualified teachers. Lawal made these remarks during a courtesy visit from the FCET Governing Council, led by Professor Muhammad Bashir Nuhu.

The governor acknowledged the challenges facing Zamfara State’s education sector, including its consistent ranking at the bottom of national indicators. He highlighted his administration’s efforts to address these challenges, including declaring a state of emergency in the education sector, settling debts for NECO and WAEC exams, and renovating and constructing schools.

Lawal also commended the FCET for its role in enhancing teacher capacity and quality, emphasizing the need for synergy between the state government and the college. The chairman of the governing council, Professor Nuhu, praised the governor’s prioritization of education and his wife’s support for the college.
