Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has sought the Federal Government’s assistance in resolving the dispute with Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Co. over the Ogun Free Trade Zone. This move comes as Professor Pat Utomi accused former Governor Ibikunle Amosun of revoking his property deal with the state government.
Abiodun consulted top federal officials on Thursday to address the seizure of presidential jets due to the business dispute. Meanwhile, Utomi and Amosun engaged in a public feud over a revoked property deal. Utomi claimed that Amosun’s actions led to the seizure of the presidential jets and shared his own experience of losing millions due to Amosun’s contract cancellation.
Amosun responded, accusing Utomi of having an “entitlement mentality” and attempting to induce him to pay N200m for a project that didn’t warrant it. He explained that the Ogun State House of Assembly had blacklisted Utomi due to his alleged penchant for shoddy deals.
The dispute revolves around the cancellation of contracts signed by Amosun’s predecessor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel. The Chinese firm, Zhongfu International Investment FXE, secured a French court order to seize the presidential jets over the business dispute. Abiodun’s efforts aim to resolve the issue and prevent further damage to the state’s reputation.
