IPMAN reveals solution to end fuel scarcity in three days

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has proposed a solution to end the ongoing fuel scarcity in Nigeria within three to four days. According to IPMAN Chairman, Shino Amoo, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) should grant its members access to the depot to purchase fuel.

Amoo explained that the current fuel scarcity is due to NNPCL’s decision to prioritize Depots and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN) and Major Energies Marketers Association of Nigeria (MEMAN) over IPMAN. This has resulted in a limited supply of fuel to IPMAN members, making it difficult for them to distribute fuel to urban and rural areas.

Amoo suggested that if NNPCL allows IPMAN access to the depot, fuel scarcity would be resolved within three to four days. He assured that IPMAN would deliver fuel to all areas, ensuring adequate supply.

NNPCL had earlier stated that it is working with stakeholders to address the current fuel scarcity caused by distribution challenges. However, IPMAN’s proposal offers a concrete solution to the ongoing crisis.

The fuel scarcity has affected many Nigerians, with long queues and high prices reported in Lagos, Abuja, and other major cities. IPMAN’s solution offers hope for a swift resolution to the crisis, and it remains to be seen whether NNPCL will accept the proposal.
