Anambra women receive N50,000 First Lady’s recapitalisation grant

Over 1,000 women in Anambra State have received a recapitalization grant of N50,000 each from the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative Economic Empowerment Programme. The program aims to improve the living standards of vulnerable Nigerians, particularly women and persons with disabilities. The initiative is part of a larger effort to empower 37,000 women petty traders across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory with a total of N1.85 billion.

The Anambra State Governor’s wife, Dr. Nonye Soludo, distributed the grants on behalf of the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu. Soludo emphasized the importance of economic empowerment for women, stating that it is a core objective of the Renewed Hope Initiative. She noted that empowering women economically is not only a moral imperative but also a strategic one, as it leads to the prosperity of families, communities, and the nation.

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the First Lady and the Governor’s wife, assuring them of their continuous support towards a better Nigeria. The event also featured a cooking and dancing competition organized by PZ Wilmar.
