The Federal Government-owned road has been in a deplorable state for over 20 years, but was handed over to the Ogun State government in 2024 by the President Bola Tinubu-led administration. Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State is set to flag off the reconstruction project on Friday, August 23.

The reconstruction aims to improve the road’s condition, which has been a source of concern for commuters and residents. Governor Abiodun had previously cited bureaucratic bottlenecks as a reason for the delay in reconstructing the road.
