Gombe to receive 1,850 new corps members for 2024 orientation

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the commencement of the 2024 Batch “B” Stream II orientation course in Gombe State, scheduled to begin on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. A total of 1,850 prospective corps members are expected to participate in the three-week course, which will be held at the temporary orientation camp in Amada, Akko Local Government Area.

The formal opening and swearing-in ceremony will take place on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 10:00 am, with the Executive Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, presiding over the event. The Chief Judge of Gombe State, Justice Halima Mohammed, will administer the Oath of Allegiance to the corps members.

The NYSC has urged residents and the host community to provide necessary assistance to the prospective corps members, emphasizing the state’s reputation for hospitality and peaceful coexistence. Registration will commence on Wednesday, August 28, and continue until Friday, August 30, 2024, with a midnight deadline.
