Timi Frank, a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has responded to Chief Olabode George’s statement that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar should wait until 2031 to contest for President. Frank told George that he lacks the power to decide Atiku’s fate in 2027.
Frank criticized George, saying he is living in self-delusion and ego trip. He recalled that George was convicted by a Lagos High Court in 2009 but was later discharged and acquitted by the Supreme Court in 2013. Frank questioned how someone who has been through such an experience can claim to know the outcome of future political events.
Frank also reminded George that he had vowed to renounce his Nigerian citizenship and go into self-exile if Tinubu became President, but that did not happen. He further stated that George has never supported Atiku in any election, and therefore, his opinion on Atiku’s political future is irrelevant.
