Tributes as music icon Onyeka Onwenu buried in Lagos

Renowned Nigerian singer and music icon, Onyeka Onwenu, was laid to rest in Lagos on August 30, 2024. The 72-year-old singer passed away on July 30, 2024, after a performance at an event. A song of service was held at the Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, Lagos, followed by a private burial at Ebony Vault in Ikoyi, Lagos State.

Friends and family paid their tributes at the condolence table, which was beautified with flowers and candles. Notable attendees included former presidential candidate Peter Obi, who posted a heartfelt message on his X page, and singer-songwriter Charly Boy, who shared a video of the burial process.
