Ornguga praised party members for their peaceful conduct during the primary election and commended the aspirants for their discipline during the screening exercise. He noted that the Primary Election Appeal Committee has begun addressing petitions arising from the conduct of the primaries.

The results showed that Mr Timothy Adi won the chairmanship ticket in Gwer East, while Mr Guda Terkura secured the ticket in Vandiekya LGA. Other winners include Mr Joseph Keffi in Makurdi, Mr Jonathan Modi in Ukum, and Mr Kumasuun Tyowase in Ushongo.

Ornguga emphasized the transparency and success of the process, urging cooperation and understanding from party members to ensure the overall success of the electoral process. However, the Agada-led executive committee, dissolved by the national working committee, had earlier claimed to have conducted its primaries and released names of candidates for the upcoming local government elections.

The APC’s successful conduct of local government primaries in Benue State demonstrates the party’s commitment to democratic processes and sets the stage for the October 5 elections. The peaceful and transparent nature of the primaries is a positive development, and the party’s ability to address petitions and concerns will be crucial in maintaining unity and cohesion among members.
