Ondo poll: APC, PDP trade words over alleged planned violence

The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of planning to cause violence during the upcoming governorship election on November 16. The PDP alleged that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is using state resources to compromise peace and security in the state.

The PDP called on President Bola Tinubu to caution the governor and appealed to security agencies to be proactive against the alleged planned violence. However, the APC Director of Media and Publicity, Steve Otaloro, denied the allegations, stating that they were untrue and baseless.

Otaloro said the governor’s commitment to peace and security is unwavering and that the PDP’s allegations were meant to distract him. He urged the PDP to focus on issue-based campaigning rather than resorting to unfounded allegations and scaremongering.

The APC assured the public that Governor Aiyedatiwa remains committed to delivering on his campaign promises and ensuring a peaceful and fair election. The exchange between the two parties highlights the tensions and accusations that often accompany elections in Nigeria.
