President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has addressed Nigerians in China regarding the recent fuel price increase in Nigeria. During a meeting in Beijing, Tinubu explained that the hike in petrol prices, which now range from N897 to N1000, was a necessary decision made by his administration.
Tinubu emphasized that the price increase is a sacrifice Nigerians must make to enjoy basic amenities like constant electricity, good roads, water supply, and quality schools, which are readily available in China. He acknowledged the challenges posed by the fuel price hike but stressed that it is a necessary step towards development.
The President’s remarks come as Nigerians continue to express dissatisfaction with the fuel price increase, which has sparked widespread protests and criticism from various groups. Despite this, Tinubu remains resolute in his decision, emphasizing the need for sacrifice to achieve development.
Tinubu’s meeting with Nigerians in China marked the conclusion of his official visit to the country, which he described as “very good and successful.” His administration’s commitment to making tough decisions to drive development has been a recurring theme throughout his presidency.
