Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, has appointed Ibrahim Umar as his new media aide. Umar replaces Yunusa Tanko, who has been named the Interim National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement worldwide.
The Peter Obi Media Reach announced the change in a statement, describing Umar as a versatile Obidient member who is equally passionate about creating a new Nigeria. The statement appealed for cooperation from Nigerians and supporters of the Labour Party’s national leader, Peter Obi.
Tanko, the former spokesman for the Obi Presidential Campaign, will now coordinate the activities of the Obidient Movement nationally and internationally. The movement aims to bring about positive change in Nigeria.
The statement read, “We wish to inform the public, especially media operatives, of minor changes in the media reach personnel. Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the POMR publicist and chief spokesperson of the Obi Presidential Campaign, is leaving his position for another huge challenge.”
The appointment of Umar and Tanko’s new role demonstrate Obi’s commitment to building a strong team to drive his vision for a new Nigeria. The Obidient Movement has gained significant traction since the 2023 election, with supporters advocating for good governance and accountability.
As Umar takes on his new role, he is expected to work closely with Obi and other team members to communicate the party’s message and policies to Nigerians. With Tanko at the helm of the Obidient Movement, the group is poised to continue its advocacy for a better Nigeria.
