The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) in Bauchi has disowned a fake Facebook account bearing the name of its Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sani Usman Kunya. The university’s management issued a press release distancing itself from the account, which was created with the intention of scamming innocent individuals.

According to the release, the fake account was brought to the attention of the Vice-Chancellor by a good Samaritan, who noticed a suspicious transaction. The account was attempting to lure individuals into surrendering money in exchange for a supposed contract award.
