Tragedy struck in Jigawa State yesterday, September 19, 2024, when 40-year-old Jibrin Adamu took his own life by hanging himself in a classroom at Miftahul Khairat Islamiyya And Primary School Gurdiba in Jigawar Maroka village, Kiyawa Local Government Area ¹. According to DSP Lawan Shiisu, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Jibrin suffered from mental health issues and had a history of disappearing for days before returning home.

Unfortunately, they found Jibrin’s lifeless body dangling from the ceiling of a classroom ¹. The corpse was later taken to Dutse General Hospital, where a medical doctor confirmed his death, and the remains were released to his family for burial.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Ahmadu Abdullahi, has ordered an investigation into the case. This tragic incident highlights the importance of addressing mental health issues and providing support to those struggling with them.
