Nigeria and Libya Explore Regional Gas Pipeline Project

Nigeria’s government has initiated discussions with Libya to construct a regional gas pipeline connecting both countries. The Minister of Petroleum (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, met with Libya’s Minister of Oil, Dr. Khalifa AbduAlsadik, at the Gastech Exhibition and Conference 2024 in Houston.
Ekpo stated that the proposed pipeline would begin in Nigeria and traverse through to Libya, strengthening energy cooperation between the two nations. This project aligns with Nigeria’s shift from oil to gas, driven by its vast gas reserves.
