A shocking incident unfolded on Friday in Auchi, Edo State, where a lecturer from Auchi Polytechnic, identified only as Mr. Rasheed, was tragically killed by his younger brother.
The event occurred during a burial ceremony, where Rasheed had been invited for what was described as an urgent meeting.
Upon his arrival, the situation took a deadly turn when his younger brother shot him at point-blank range. Eyewitnesses report that the assailant attempted to flee the scene but was quickly apprehended by local youths. In a shocking display of vigilante justice, the brother was subsequently burned alive by the angry mob.
Sources indicate that the family was comprised of three brothers, one of whom is currently serving time in a prison overseas. It is believed that the suspect felt his elder brother was not doing enough to secure the imprisoned sibling’s release.
