According to TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, towers T193 and T194 were destroyed. This incident follows previous vandalism in July 2024, where two towers were damaged.

The repeated attacks have raised concerns about the impact on electricity supply and national infrastructure. TCN is working to provide further details on the incident.

This isn’t an isolated incident, as similar vandalism has occurred elsewhere. In Kaduna, suspected vandals were arrested for damaging TCN’s infrastructure, while in Rivers, 125 manhole covers were stolen.

The destruction of electricity infrastructure has significant consequences, including power outages and economic losses. In Yenagoa, vandalism left residents without electricity for three months.

The TCN urges the public to report any information about the perpetrators.
