The Niger State House of Assembly has passed a bill establishing the Abdulsalami Abubakar University of Agriculture and Climate Action in Mokwa. The decision came after the Committee on Tertiary Education presented its report.
Committee Chairman Mohammad Sani Idris explained that the university will specialize in agriculture and climate action, incorporating IT and modern practices. The bill was unanimously adopted and passed into law.
Speaker Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji commended the committee and members, directing the clerk to transmit the law to the governor for assent.
The new university aims to provide specialized training in agriculture and climate action, aligning with the National University Commission’s approved curriculum.
This development is expected to enhance education and research in agriculture and climate action in Niger State.
