Kano State Government has initiated a 24-hour work schedule to expedite the completion of two interchange bridges in the state capital. The projects, estimated to cost over N2 billion, include a three-layer interchange bridge at Dan’agundi Junction and a cloverleaf overpass at Tal’udu Roundabout.
State Commissioner of Works and Housing, Marwan Ahmad, confirmed the new schedule, citing measures to extend work hours to nighttime and ensure project deadlines are met. To facilitate night shifts, lighting will be installed at construction sites.
Progress updates:
- Tal’udu project: 40% complete
- Dan’agundi project: 20% complete
Expected completion: 2025
To minimize traffic disruptions, alternative routes have been designated, and signage placed at strategic locations. Commissioner Ahmad appealed for patience and cooperation from motorists and residents.
Governor Abba Yusuf emphasized the projects’ objectives: reducing traffic congestion, easing travel, enhancing aesthetics, controlling pollution, and developing Kano’s infrastructure.
