Sokoto State Government has allocated N1.1 billion for life jackets and motorized boats to combat boat mishaps. The decision was made during the state executive council meeting, chaired by Governor Ahmed Aliyu.

The equipment will be distributed across 22 flood-prone local government areas. Commissioner Ibrahim Adare explained that this initiative follows a committee’s report on flooding and aims to ensure resident safety during emergencies.
