Edo Election: PDP Candidate Denies Vote-Buying Allegations

Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the Edo governorship election, has denied involvement in vote-buying. He alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) offered voters N10,000 to N20,000 per vote with the support of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He also expressed his intention to challenge the election results in court, saying:
- The mandate was stolen
- He will reclaim it through legal means
The election saw APC’s Monday Okpebholo declared winner with 291,667 votes, followed by PDP’s 247,274 votes and Labour Party’s 22,761 votes.
