Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the Edo State governorship election, has expressed dissatisfaction with the election results. He claims his mandate was stolen by the All Progressives Congress (APC) with the help of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Ighodalo cited issues such as:

- Failure to use the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) in over 160 polling units
- Skipping proper collation procedures
- Alleged collusion between INEC, police, and APC to suppress voters’ will
- APC’s alleged vote-buying with cash incentives ranging from N25,000 to N50,000
Ighodalo plans to take the matter to the tribunal, believing evidence will prove PDP’s rightful win. He declined Okpebholo’s friendship offer, stating accepting it would be impossible while the mandate is contested.
