Police Officers’ Wives Association Empowers Widows of Fallen Officers in Rivers
The National President of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Dr. Elizabeth Egbetokun, has reaffirmed the association’s commitment to supporting police families. At the commissioning of the POWA office complex in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, she described the facility as a safe haven and a new beginning.
The complex, named after Dr. Egbetokun, will serve as a hub for empowerment, education, and community engagement. It features a mini business hub to generate funds for the association’s activities.
Rivers State Governor’s wife, Valerie Fubara, urged members to utilize the complex effectively, promoting women’s empowerment and economic development.
Forty-one beneficiaries, including widows of deceased police officers, received starter packs for businesses such as refrigerators, hairdressers, and gas cookers.
