Varsity students urged to shun October 1 protest

The National Association of University Students (NAUS) has opposed the planned October 1 protest, instead calling for dialogue with the government. NAUS President Josiah Peter urged the Federal Government to distribute 3,000 CNG buses to universities to cushion the effects of subsidy removal on students.

At a press conference in Abuja, Peter thanked President Bola Tinubu for educational reforms and NELFUND innovation. He appealed to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited to:

  • Ensure uniform PMS prices at filling stations
  • Make refineries operational

NAUS urged students to shun protests, opting for dialogue unless demands remain unmet.
