Former Kogi State House of Assembly Speaker, Prince Mathew Kolawole, believes President Bola Tinubu needs more time to address Nigeria’s economic challenges. Kolawole cited the country’s inherited “rotten economic system” as the reason.
In an interview, Kolawole urged Nigerians to be patient, stating that Tinubu is working to implement reforms. He acknowledged the economic reforms’ harsh impact but expressed confidence in Tinubu’s roadmap.
Kolawole praised Tinubu’s performance, highlighting visible developments and laudable policies. He attributed Nigerians’ complaints to petroleum and electricity issues.
Regarding the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) investigation into former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello, Kolawole deemed it unfortunate. He noted Bello’s sacrifices for the All Progressive Congress and his support for Tinubu during the 2023 elections.
Kolawole suspected that Bello’s persecution stemmed from those fearing his rising political influence. He emphasized that power belongs to God, not individuals.
