Oxlade Recalls Racial Abuse Experience in France
Lagos, Nigeria – October 14, 2024
Nigerian singer Oxlade has shared his experience of racial abuse in France, specifically Monaco, which inspired the title of his debut album, “Oxlade From Africa.”
In a recent podcast appearance on “The Datebizz,” Oxlade revealed:
“I was racially abused in France, and that’s what made me realize African stigma exists. Outside Africa, they see us as monkeys, strange beings.”
The singer, a History and International Relations graduate, also expressed concerns about the derogatory connotations associated with the names “Africa” and “Nigeria.”
Oxlade’s experience highlights ongoing issues of racism and xenophobia. For more updates on entertainment and social issues, check online news sources.
