Former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose has advised Atiku Abubakar to drop his 2027 presidential ambitions, citing the need for younger leaders.

Fayose, speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, emphasized that Nigerians are seeking fresh faces, and Atiku, who will be 80 by 2027, should “leave the stage when the ovation is loudest.”
Atiku, who unsuccessfully ran for president six times, remains optimistic about his chances in 2027. However, Fayose believes holding public office would lose appeal for an octogenarian.
