NUC Begins Verification of Courses for Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has commenced verification of 18 degree programs for the Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu, marking a crucial step toward the university’s inaugural academic session.
The programs, selected from 22 approved by the university’s senate, include:
- Nursing Science
- Dental Technology
- Public Health
- Health Education
- Medical Laboratory Science
These programs aim to address Nigeria’s healthcare needs by producing competent professionals.
NUC’s Academic Planner, Jude Akubue, emphasized the significance of the verification process, ensuring the programs meet national standards.
The verification team, comprising experts from various Nigerian universities, will assess the programs using the Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS).
The Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu, was upgraded from the Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy following President Bola Tinubu’s approval in March 2024.
