Lere Olayinka, former spokesman to ex-governor Ayodele Fayose, has called for the arrest of Abia State Representative Alexander Mascot Ikwechegh for threatening a cab driver in Abuja. The incident, which was captured on video and shared by Chidi Odinkalu, former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, shows Ikwechegh threatening to make the driver “disappear” and also threatening to beat him up and lock him in his generator house.
Olayinka, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, took to social media to condemn Ikwechegh’s actions, asking when the “Almighty Rep member” would be arrested.
This is not the first time Ikwechegh has been involved in a controversy. He was previously accused of assaulting a Bolt driver ¹.
In related news, Bode George, another PDP chieftain, has criticized Fayose for supporting the re-election of Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ¹ ² ³ ⁴ ⁵.
