Atiku Abubakar Commends Obasanjo for Assenting to WOTCLEF Bill
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has praised ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo for signing the Women Trafficking and Child Labour Eradication Foundation (WOTCLEF) bill into law during his tenure.
Atiku’s commendation came during WOTCLEF’s 25th anniversary celebration, where he acknowledged Obasanjo’s leadership in creating an environment conducive to the organization’s mission. Founded by Atiku’s wife, Titi Abubakar, WOTCLEF aims to combat human trafficking and child labor.
Atiku expressed gratitude to Obasanjo and subsequent presidents for their support in combating these social ills. He highlighted the significance of collaborative governance in building a safer, fairer society.
WOTCLEF was established in 1999, and its efforts have led to notable legislative milestones, including the 2003 Act and its repeal and re-enactment in 2015.
