PRP Urges President Tinubu to Reconsider Economic Policies Amidst Growing Hardship
The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has called on President Bola Tinubu to reassess his economic reforms, citing the worsening hardship faced by Nigerians.
PRP National Chairman Falalu Bello expressed concerns over recent comments from key figures in Tinubu’s administration and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank, which he believes demonstrate a disconnect from the realities faced by ordinary Nigerians.
Bello criticized the government’s profligate lifestyles and excessive spending, arguing that the removal of subsidies and currency devaluation has not translated into improved social amenities.
The PRP chairman emphasized the need for homegrown policies prioritizing citizen welfare, rather than externally imposed measures.
“We strongly urge President Tinubu to recalibrate his approach and implement a governance framework that prioritizes the welfare of citizens,” Bello stated.
The PRP’s appeal comes as Nigerians continue to struggle with economic challenges, with recent reports indicating increased poverty levels.
