Ogun Doctor Denies Assaulting Student Nurse

Dr. Nurudeen Adekunle, a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Ijaiye State Hospital, Abeokuta, denied allegations of slapping a 21-year-old male nursing student.
Adekunle claimed he only asked the student to leave the operating theatre for behaving rudely.

The incident sparked a protest by nurses, led by the state chairman of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives.
The hospital’s Chief Medical Director investigated and found no corroboration of the allegations.
Ogun State’s Nigeria Medical Association Chairman, Dr. Luqman Ogunjimi, supported Adekunle’s account, stating there was no physical altercation.
The matter remains under scrutiny.
