EFCC Recovers N248 Billion, $105.4 Million in One Year

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced the recovery of N248 billion, $105.4 million, and other foreign currencies between October 18, 2023, and October 18, 2024.
According to Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC Director of Public Affairs, the commission has:

- Secured 3,455 convictions across financial crimes and corruption
- Charged four former governors and three former ministers to court for alleged corruption
- Established a partnership with Flutterwave to create a Cybercrime Research Centre
- Recovered additional foreign currencies, including £53,133.64, €172,547.10, and more
The EFCC attributes its success to collaborations with government agencies and civil society organizations.
