Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has assured that President Bola Tinubu doesn’t intend to discriminate against any region, describing the recent power outage in the north as unfortunate. He made this statement during a meeting with Kano State government officials to discuss improving power supply in the state and across the country ¹.
Adelabu emphasized that the situation was not deliberate and called for a permanent solution to prevent future occurrences. He also urged the state government to collaborate with the Ministry to invest in power generation and distribution, highlighting the decentralization of the power sector, which grants 10 states authority to generate power – an opportunity Kano has yet to access.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf assured the minister that the state government would explore ways to invest in the sector and provide subsidies for consumers through the budget.
This development aligns with Vice President Shettima’s statement, praising Tinubu’s goodwill toward the north, citing appointments of key officials from the region, including Ministers of Defence and the Chief of Defence Staff ¹.
