The Federal Government of Nigeria has assured China of President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to strengthening their bilateral relationship. Director-General of the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership, Joseph Tegbe, made this promise to a Chinese delegation in Abuja, emphasizing collaboration in infrastructure, energy, mining, agriculture, manufacturing, education, and technology [1).
Tegbe, appointed by President Tinubu last month, highlighted the need for clear communication to achieve mutual goals. He explained that Nigeria aims to expand the partnership beyond commerce to include industrial collaboration and knowledge exchange.
China’s leader, Mr. Zhang Huanteng, presented the signed agreements and outlined priority areas from the three-year development plan. He invited Nigeria to a follow-up meeting in Beijing to finalize details.
Senator Atiku Bagudu, Minister for Budget and Economic Planning, thanked the Chinese delegation for their hospitality and recalled the five agreements signed in September. Bagudu praised Tegbe’s experience and assured the delegation of Nigeria’s commitment to the partnership.
