President Bola Tinubu Declares Nigeria’s Toughest Economic Challenge Over

President Bola Tinubu has reassured Nigerians that the country’s most challenging economic period is behind them. He made this statement during the inauguration ceremony of Edo State’s new Governor, Monday Okpebholo, and Deputy Governor, Dennis Idahosa.
Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Tinubu celebrated Nigeria’s democratic journey, emphasizing the significance of the popular will in shaping the country’s political landscape. “We have weathered the hardest days as a nation. We have pulled back from the brink of economic collapse, and now we step forward into a time of growth,” he stated.
Tinubu called for immediate reconciliation to address potential post-election differences in the state. He also emphasized the evolution of Nigeria’s democratic journey, noting that every elected leader has a duty to serve all citizens, regardless of their voting choices.
The President highlighted Senator Okpebholo’s commitment to building a better Edo State, with focuses on:
- Job Creation: making jobs plentiful
- Education: making education accessible and strong
- Infrastructure: modernizing infrastructure
- Healthcare: making healthcare within reach for every citizen
