The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has begun investigating a vessel seized by the Nigerian Navy for suspected illegal oil bunkering. The vessel, Bravo Alero, was arrested by the Nigerian Navy Ship NNS FORMOSSO in Brass, Bayelsa State, and was found to be carrying 200 litres of suspected illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The EFCC’s Port Harcourt Zonal Directorate received the vessel from the Navy and has commenced an investigation into the matter. Captain Ifeanyichukwu Mabeokwu of the NNS FORMOSSO expressed confidence in the EFCC’s ability to investigate and prosecute the case, and assured continued collaboration in the fight against illegal oil bunkering in the Niger Delta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
