The husband of Mrs. Favour Igiebor has come forward to clarify a viral video that showed his wife tearing his international passport. In a new video shared on the family’s Instagram page, the man explained that they were only acting out a skit and begged Nigerians for understanding and forgiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He emphasized that his wife did not actually tear his passport, stating, “What my wife tore is not a passport\u2026 we are doing a skit, this is somebody’s story of what happened that we are passing to the world.” He acknowledged that he didn’t expect the video to go viral and apologized for any confusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The man assured that his passport is intact and pleaded with the public not to drag the issue further. He also expressed their respect for Nigerian laws, saying, “We are full bonafide Nigerians, we cannot go against the law by destroying the passport of Nigeria, it is not possible.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initial video had sparked outrage, leading the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to launch a formal investigation. The video appeared to show Mrs. Igiebor destroying her husband’s Nigerian Standard Passport at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos.
