President Bola Tinubu and President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea signed an agreement on the Gulf of Guinea Pipeline Project, marking a significant milestone in their partnership for mutual development. The agreement covers various aspects of the gas pipeline, including legislative and regulatory measures, establishment, operation, transit of natural gas, ownership, and general principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Tinubu highlighted the importance of the agreement, stating that it would open up new opportunities for gas exploration and employment. He also mentioned that the two leaders discussed issues related to employment creation, food security, multilateral relations, and conflict resolution mechanisms on the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President emphasized the need for Africa to address its problems internally, rather than relying on external solutions. He also stressed the importance of promoting peace and stability in Africa, citing the examples of Europe and America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Mbasogo praised the bilateral relations between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea, highlighting the need to deepen cooperation in key areas. He also affirmed the importance of Africa having a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the continent’s development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The signing of the agreement was attended by several notable figures, including Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and Equatorial Guinea’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Simeon Oyono Esono.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
