Katsina Suspect Confesses to Raping 16-Year-Old, Throwing Her into Well<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Usman Mohammed Iyal, 24, has confessed to raping a 16-year-old girl and throwing her into a well in Ambassadors Quarters, Katsina State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iyal told police that he committed the crime to avoid being exposed. “I didn’t want her to expose me,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident occurred on September 27, 2024, when the victim was sent on an errand by her mother. Iyal, armed with a knife, accosted and threatened the victim, then dragged her into an uncompleted building where he violently assaulted and raped her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The police launched a swift investigation and rescue operation, saving the victim from the well unharmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to ASP Abubakar Sadiq, the state Police Command Public Relations Officer, the suspect will face charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a separate incident, police arrested Binta Muhammed, 35, for cruelty to a child. Muhammed tied and locked up a two-year-old boy in a room, and he was rescued by police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
